Valentine Fun

We were kind of dissapointed in Valentine's day being on a saturday, so I decided to kindd of go with a Valentine's theme for the whole week. Nate was made a lot of his favorite dinners and treats, and I was overwhelmingly sweet all week! :)
My famouse oatmeal choc chip cookies, with a special giant one for Nate!
One of his favorite dishes that I make... I was really proud of this one! Probably the best pizza I've made so far. And it looked so pretty!!
For the actual holiday, all I asked for was no homework. I was really excited to just get one day where I could spend all hours of it with my hubby. That NEVER happens! The day ended up with a whole lot of basketball, but I enjoyed it. Nate had a church ball game that morning, so after a big beautiful breakfast
(yes, those french toasts are kissy shaped! how cute)
we headed off to that. We had a photo session scheduled for our afternoon with our friend Isaac. He's a very creative photographer, and we wanted to give him some practice. :) He's got awesome prices, and the session is very personable, professional, and easy going. (He really didn't tell me to say those things, I jsut mean it!) Check out his website, and you can also see us in the gallery! Thanks so much, Isaac. We had a lot of fun with him and his family, and enjoyed pretending to be lovebirds again. :)http://www.wix.com/isaacstephens/photography

After our photo shoot, we got to have dinner at my VERY FAVORITE restuarant here in Logan, Kamin Thai Cuisine.
I am so in love with this place. The atmosphere is so wonderful, and the food...oh the food. It's just to die for, and that's all there is to it. My meal this time was a special just for Valentine's, and if I was more brave, I would have taken a picture of my volcano chicken. It came out on fire!!! And it was so divinely delicious. We were so sad when we got home, becuase we realized we left our to go boxes on our table. If it hadn't been a complete whiteout, I might have considered going back and finding them. At home, we ate Nate's favorite Ben and Jerry's ice cream for dessert, and sat down to the Aggie bball game on tv. Unfortunately, this stupid game ruined our lovely day; dang aggies, lost to dumb boise. We ended up being entertained by the Slam Dunk Contest. I really loved just being lazy and spending the whole day with Nate-no worries. Even though it wasn't his ideal kind of Valentine's day. He really really really loves surprises, and because we were spending the whole day together, he said he couldn't surprise me and was very dissapointed. He did give me a lovely bouquet of "purple" flowers and 4lbs of red vines. Such a romantic, bless his sweet heart. He knows exactly how to show his love for me.
It's totally ok if you want to call these flowers pink, cause I do. But don't tell Nate that, cause he swears they are purple!
It was so nice to have a much needed long weekend; Tuesday morning came and I was not ready to be an adult with responsiblities again. Mucho love to my hubby for such a wonderful weekend, and we hope you all enjoyed yours as well! Next break is just a few weeks away, and before you know it, hopefully, it will be good weather season!

Ode to Logan

Since Nate is still working on his Inauguration post(yes, he was there, without me. Details to come later, when he does his own post),I decided to keep all of you happy readers happy. Since I really don't have anything going on in my life, I had to get my creative juices flowing. So far, this is all I've got. Please feel free to contribute; I'd love to add to my Logan funnies collection.

For those of you who have lived in Logan you know exactly what this poem is talking about. (I can't take credit for this creativity; thanks for supplying me,Maren.

WINTER

It's winter in Logan
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At thirty-five below.

Oh, how I love Logan
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Logan
I'm frozen to the ground!

You know you’re in Logan when…the high is 28 degrees and you see people without coats and wearing sandals. (I really just witnessed this!)

You know you’re in Logan when…it’s 15 degrees outside, but the sun is shining, and you hear the comment, “What a beautiful day it is today!” (Literally heard this yesterday, and the person was being serious!)

You know you’re in Logan when…you just reimbursed some students for their travel to the state capitol to protest the university’s budget cuts. (Really? We’re going to PAY the students to go rally? Now I understand the need for the furlough. Don’t even get me started on the stupid things USU pays for.)

Like I said, this is all I've got so far; I just couldn't keep my fans waiting any longer. But I'm dedicated to creating more Logan funnies. (This is how uneventful my life is right now.) Again, we are gladly accepting contributions. Happy 6 more weeks of winter! :(
